FIRSTHAND EXPERIENCE
In 2023, I took a career break from government and spent a year travelling across five continents. From trekking in the Himalayas to island-hopping in Indonesia and road-tripping Australia, I learnt how much the pace and practical details shape a trip.
That experience informs how I plan yours: time to enjoy each stop, connections that make sense and places to stay that suit the journey. I combine it with research and trusted industry connections to build a holiday around you.
WHAT YOU GET
A hotel can look lovely online and still be in the wrong place for your trip. A route can fit on paper and leave you spending most of the week in transit. These are the things I think through with you.
YOUR JOURNEY, CONNECTED
I look at what suits your interests, budget and pace. That includes the practical bits, like walking distances, transfers and how you’ll feel after a long journey.
I help choose the arrangements and book through trusted suppliers, so you have someone who understands how the different parts fit together.
A mobile-friendly travel pack with your plans, confirmations and useful information in one place. Something you can refer to while you’re away.
You’ll deal with me as we plan it. We’ll also agree what support is available before you travel, so you know how to get help if you need it.
HOW IT WORKS
A detailed wish list is useful. So is “we need a week away and don’t know where to start”.
Where you’re thinking of going, when, who’s coming and your budget. We’ll talk about what matters to you.
I research a proposal and we refine the plans together. Any planning fee and scope of work will be agreed before chargeable work begins.
Once you’re happy to go ahead, I arrange the agreed bookings through ITE and explain the relevant terms and protection.
Your digital itinerary brings the arrangements together. We’ll confirm contact details and the support arrangements before departure.

Journeys by JJ is my independent travel business. I work through Independent Travel Experts, part of The Travel Network Group, to arrange your bookings.

Qualifying flights and flight-inclusive holidays are ATOL protected. Where applicable, you’ll receive an ATOL Certificate showing what is covered and who provides the protection. ATOL does not apply to every travel service and is separate from travel insurance.

Most of the time, I don’t charge a planning fee because I earn commission from suppliers such as hotels and tour operators. That commission is usually built into the price, so I can often offer a price similar to one you might find online. If your trip needs chargeable planning work, I’ll explain the fee, what it covers and when it’s payable before we agree to go ahead.
I’ll reply by email so we can talk through your ideas and the help you’re looking for. From there, we can agree the next steps for planning your holiday.
We’ll confirm the support arrangements and relevant contact details before you travel, including who to contact if something urgent happens. If you have particular support needs, let’s discuss them while we’re planning.
Yes. You don’t need a complicated itinerary to get in touch. A week away, a city break or a straightforward cruise booking is welcome too. I can also help with package holidays from operators such as TUI and easyJet holidays.
